Report: Bray Wyatt "Most Likely" Headed To AEW
Will Wyatt be "let in" through The Forbidden Door?
Less than 24 hours after CM Punk's headline-grabbing debut in All Elite Wrestling, there is word that another popular former WWE champion is headed to Jacksonville once they're legally able to.
Dave Meltzer reported on Wrestling Observer Radio Saturday afternoon that Bray Wyatt is in all likelihood headed to AEW, once they're free from their WWE non-compete.
"It's not a hundred percent, because his non-compete's not up, but it's most likely happening," Meltzer said. "It's the same stage when I said Aleister Black long before it happened. It's the same stage. I don't think there's pen to paper or anything like that, but it's an expectation that's pretty strong, let's put it that way."
Wyatt was released from WWE on July 31. Assuming a 90 day non-compete period, Wyatt would be free and clear to sign elsewhere after October 29, thereabouts.
A former three-time World champion under the WWE banner, Wyatt was last seen in action at WrestleMania 37 in April, where he lost to Randy Orton. Following his release, reports emerged claiming that disagreements over the direction of "Fiend" character may have played a role in Wyatt being let go from WWE.
