Report: Kenny Omega ‘Furious’ Over AEW Revolution 2021 Ending

Seems like the ending was definitely meant to be more intense

The talk of the wrestling world this week has been the end to AEW: Revolution and the Exploding Barbed Wire Deathmatch main event - but for all the wrong reasons.

AEW World Champion Kenny Omega and Jon Moxley put on a gruelling bout, but a flat ending featuring underwhelming pyro undid all the good work the two men had done for the previous 30 minutes. According to Wrestling Observer Live, details have emerged from behind the scenes at AEW, with Kenny Omega reportedly furious about the flat ending.

In a post Revolution media scrum, AEW Owner Tony Khan tried to play the limp explosion off as kayfabe, echoing remarks made post-match by Jon Moxley, but it now seems as this was damage limitation and a way to salvage the intense story that Omega and Moxley have been telling for the best part of two years..

It will be interesting to see how AEW treats this incident and the ongoing storyline going forward, but for most fans it’ll always remain an example of ‘what if?’
