Report: Matt Riddle Vignette To Air On This Week's Episode Of WWE SmackDown

The King Of Bros will be debuting soon...

Earlier this week, it emerged that Matt Riddle would be heading to the main roster after nearly two years in NXT. The King Of Bros will debut on Friday Night SmackDown "imminently" and his cage match with Timothy Thatcher on last night's episode of NXT was his blow off on the black and gold brand.

Riddle seemingly won't be wrestling on this week's edition of SmackDown, however, as Dave Meltzer reported on Wrestling Observer Radio that the former NXT Tag Team Champion taped a vignette on Monday for tomorrow's episode but didn't step inside the squared circle. Meltzer did note that the segment might not air as WWE could change their minds between now and Friday night.

Meltzer said: "He taped a vignette that would air on Friday on SmackDown. Whether it airs or not, I mean it probably will, but things always change but you never say for sure. But that was the plan as of Monday."

WWE has reportedly been planning to bring Riddle to the main roster for some time as he was supposed to debut before WrestleMania 36 but those plans were cancelled because of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
