Report: Optimism About Edgier Storylines With Triple H As Head Of WWE Creative

Triple H took control of WWE Creative after Vince McMahon’s retirement

It has been stated time and again that we are at the beginning of a new era in WWE with the exit of Vince McMahon, and whilst we have only seen minor changes to WWE’s on screen product, there is still scope for major changes both in terms of artistic direction and content.

With Triple H taking charge of creative, fans are optimistic that many of McMahon’s oddly specific whims and preferences will go by the wayside, and according to a report from ESPN, there is optimism within WWE itself that edgier storylines will play out with Triple H in charge, similar to some of the content Triple H oversaw during his time as the head of NXT.

Sections of the fanbase have clamoured for more edgy content since the move to PG at the end of the bloody Ruthless Aggression era, itself a follow-on to critically and commercially successful Attitude Era of the late 90s/early 2000s.

Before McMahon’s exit in July, it was revealed that WWE programming would be moving away from PG back to TV-14, giving WWE the scope to push edgier content if they want to.
