Tony Khan Shuts Down Idea Of Competing In A Match In AEW

Tony Khan doesn't want to step back into the ring in AEW

Tony Khan has only sporadically appeared on AEW programming over the last five years, mostly showing up to make some big announcements such as purchasing Ring Of Honor and revealing that AEW were going to be hosting a show in Wembley Stadium, in addition to popping up here and there for random backstage bits.

In 2024, he partook in his biggest involvement in an active AEW storyline, coming out to the ring in Daily’s Place to welcome Jack Perry back to AEW, only to be ambushed by the returning name. From there, members of The Elite in The Young Bucks (Matthew & Nicholas Jackson) and Kazuchika Okada emerged and engaged in a beatdown of Khan, hitting him with a piledriver and leaving him to appear at the NFL Draft in a neck brace. Khan has since been a little more involved on AEW TV, countering many of the decisions made by The Elite.

When it comes to taking moves or even competing in a match, Tony Khan isn’t open to it again, revealing as such during an interview with AM New York Metro when asked about the possibility of ever wrestling.

"I didn't step into the ring voluntarily. I would hope to avoid such physical altercations in the future.”

Khan of course mentioned that he wouldn’t be a part of AEW storylines in the past, but this changed in 2024.
