Tony Khan Says AEW Are Still In Negotiations With WBD, Expecting Announcements Soon
Tony Khan thinks some announcements are coming within the next month regarding AEW's media rights deal
The never-ending saga of the AEW and Warner Bros. Discovery media rights negotiations is still continuing, but perhaps not for much longer, as Tony Khan has finally publicly stated that he expects an announcement to be made in the next month.
When talking at the AEW All Out press conference, he was asked about the chance of an announcement soon, and he noted that he was 90% sure it would happen in the next month, and that he was confident they were nearly in the end zone.
“Like I said, I feel we are on the one-yard line. I’m not sure how many snaps it’s going to take to punch the ball into the end zone…I’m 100 percent sure the ball is going into the end zone and based on the timetable you gave me, I don’t know. You put me on the spot. But that’s how good I feel about the media rights… I have not put pen to paper. I’m still working on things. It’s an exciting time without getting too specific, but while giving everybody that anticipation of things to come.”
During this week's Rampage & Collision double header, Khan showed up in front of the crowd to say that he expects AEW to remain on TNT & TBS.
