Report: Potential Spoiler On The Winner Of WWE United States Title Elimination Chamber Match

A potential spoiler has emerged on the planned winner of the Elimination Chamber Match for the United States Championship. 

The match will take place at the February 18 pay-per-view in Montreal and will see Austin Theory defend his belt against Bronson Reed, Seth Rollins, Johnny Gargano, Damian Priest, and Montez Ford. 

Dave Meltzer noted in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that Austin Theory has taped a TV show that will air in March with the United States Title, which could signal he is set to retain the gold at Elimination Chamber. Meltzer noted it isn't "100 percent" that Theory is retaining but his involvement with the TV show "is something."

Theory is currently in his second reign as United States Champion, having regained the title at November's Survivor Series: WarGames pay-per-view in a Triple Threat with Seth Rollins and Bobby Lashley. The young star is reportedly scheduled for a match with John Cena at WrestleMania 39. The show will take place on April 1 and April 2 at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California.
