Report: Reason Relations Between Nick Aldis & NWA Have Soured Revealed

Relations between Nick Aldis and the National Wrestling Alliance have deteriorated and the former NWA Worlds Heavyweight Champion announced this week that he had given his notice to the promotion. He will exit the NWA when his contract expires in January 2023.

In response, the National Wrestling Alliance have suspended Aldis and pulled him from Hard Times 3 and the subsequent TV tapings scheduled for the next day.  

In an update, Fightful Select reported they were scheduled to interview Aldis on Monday but their chat was postponed following his NWA suspension. The National Treasure provided further insight into his issues with the NWA, though, noting that Billy Corgan's disrespect of his wife Mickie James before and after NWA Empowerrr in 2021 was 'a huge reason' the relationship between him and the promotion soured. 

Aldis also noted publicly that the lack of a second Empowerrr show was a part of the reason for him giving his notice. 

The issues between NWA and Aldis are also not a work, according to Fightful. The two parties had issues earlier this year which led to Aldis being pulled from the NWA Worlds Heavyweight Title match at NWA 74, but that angle was a worked shoot.
