Report: Ric Flair Likely To Induct The Great Muta Into WWE Hall Of Fame

Ric Flair looks set to induct The Great Muta/Keiji Muto into the WWE Hall of Fame

Following his in-ring retirement in February inside the Tokyo Dome, Keiji Muto and his alter ego The Great Muta are reportedly set to be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame later this year.

While Sting would appear to be the popular choice to induct Muto into the WWE Hall of Fame, the honour instead looks set to go to Ric Flair, who has been asking to induct Muto, according to Dave Meltzer.

"Ric Flair has asked to induct Muto or has been asked to induct Muto. A lot of people thought it was going to be Sting but politically that would have been tough before. I think it would be even tougher now. I don't know that that's the case but we do know that Muto has been asked to be in the Hall of Fame and Flair has asked to induct him," Meltzer said on Wrestling Observer Radio.

Sting is currently a part of All Elite Wrestling, having left WWE in 2020.

Flair and The Great Muta had several matches for the NWA Worlds Heavyweight Championship in 1989 and the 16-time world champion would later face Keiji Muto in 1995 during the G1 Climax tournament.

Find out about another name tipped for the WWE Hall of Fame here. Rey Mysterio was announced as the first inductee into the 2023 WWE Hall of Fame class on March 10. The ceremony will be held on March 31 after the WrestleMania 39 go-home edition of Friday Night SmackDown.
