Report: Rumour Killer On Why William Regal Left AEW

William Regal is reportedly done with All Elite Wrestling and the leader of the Blackpool Combat Club was written off TV last week ahead of a return to WWE in the new year in a backstage role. 

Multiple claims have emerged about Regal's time in AEW since his exit, with EC3 claiming The Gentleman Villain instantly regretted joining AEW due to a maturity issue in management. The former WWE Superstar also stated that Regal tried to mentor talent but they weren't listening. 

In another claim, Justin LaBar of Busted Open Radio reported Regal's coaching in AEW wasn't appreciated. 

"So what I'm picking up is Regal done w/ AEW, back to WWE soon. Close w/ HHH but also his wisdom & coaching not appreciated/received the way you would think by some in AEW locker room who feel they have 6-figure multi year deals & Regal's advice is behind times or beneath them," LaBar tweeted.

EC3's claims have since been branded "completely inaccurate" by several AEW sources, though, SEScoops reported, and one source instead claimed that EC3 was simply frustrated at not being signed by AEW. 

"I can't believe this is a story. It's complete bulls**t. There was never some schedule you had to be down at the ring and people blew it off, and (Regal) was never going to flat tell someone they had to come to the ring so he could coach them. Regal would work with someone, people would go down and show up, a lot of people took advantage of it. Other vets do it all the time. It's always the younger women and men. Sometimes someone would work with someone one on one, other times there could be quite a few people down. It was totally informal," a source told SEScoops.

Another source added: "There was no formal coaching session, where it was something that was scheduled or anything like that. Usually he would go down to the ring to help someone, and word would spread, like, 'Hey, Regal is down in the ring.'"

It was also noted that Regal would often sit in the stands with talents to show them the ring from the fans' perspective. He joked talent should always be nice to the camera crew too since they are the ones who make the wrestlers look good.
