Report: Undisputed WWE Universal Title To Be Split By SummerSlam

WWE Are Reportedly Set To Split The Undisputed WWE Universal Title By SummerSlam 2023

For the better part of a year, WWE has had just one male world champion, with Roman Reigns holding both the WWE and Universal Championships following a title unification match against Brock Lesnar back at WrestleMania 38.

This move further muddied the brand split and it kept multiple people out of the main event scene, with no one else aside from Roman Reigns winning a top prize for over a year. According to a report from WrestleVotes via GiveMeSport, WWE looks to be cleaning up the world title scene by SummerSlam;

“This is the final mess, and you really can call it a mess. This is the final obstacle and the team is working to overcome that. There was never a plan when Roman Reigns won the titles a year ago. Triple H was handed this mess. By SummerSlam, there’s gonna be two titles.”

It isn’t yet clear how WWE will fix this “mess”, and it also isn’t clear whether WWE will simply split up the two existing belts or instead introduce a new one into the fold.
