Report: Update On Asuka's WWE Return

Asuka last wrestled in July 2021

Reports have emerged about Asuka’s WWE return, with the former WWE RAW Women’s Champion having been out with injury since Summer 2021.

PWInsider’s Mike Johnson was the bearer of mixed news, saying: "The hope internally was for Asuka to return this month but obviously there's been nothing for her creatively. Other than hearing from fans who spotted her in Los Angeles recently, we haven't heard anything additional on the Asuka front.”

Johnson continued saying it’s possible WWE could be saving Asuka’s return until after WrestleMania 38 in April, same for fellow absent star Bayley, but due to the somewhat on-the-fly nature of WWE’s booking, anything is possible.

Asuka last wrestled at Money in the Bank 2021 last July, competing in the namesake ladder match which was ultimately won by Nikki A.S.H.

The third WWE Women’s Triple Crown Champion, and second ever WWE Women’s Grand Slam Champion, Asuka has been a part of WWE since 2015, where ‘The Empress of Tomorrow’ first went on a tear through NXT, before being called up to main roster.
