Report: Update On Dakota Kai Following WWE SmackDown Injury

Dakota Kai was seemingly injured during a recent WWE SmackDown

The WWE women’s tag team division has once again found itself in a state of turmoil following an injury to Liv Morgan and the subsequent vacating of the Women’s Tag Team Championships.

Elsewhere in the division, Dakota Kai also seems to be dealing with an injury, with the Damage CTRL member believed to have picked up an injury in the same match that put Liv Morgan on the shelf. A report from Fightful Select states that the belief at the time was that Kai’s injury was worse than Morgan’s, with the pair clashing in tag action on the May 12 edition of WWE SmackDown. Bayley mentioned that Dakota had suffered a “much more devastating and heartbreaking injury” during a backstage promo segment on the May 19 edition of WWE SmackDown.

Although the status of Kai’s injury is unknown, it’s enough to keep them out of action for the upcoming fatal four-way match for the vacant championships on the May 29 edition of Raw, with Bayley teaming with IYO SKY against Chelsea Green & Sonya Deville, Ronda Rousey & Shayna Baszler, and Raquel Rodriguez and a mystery partner for a chance to become champs.
