Report: Update On Eric Young's WWE Status
Eric Young’s WWE status reportedly revealed
It’s been over six months since Eric Young last wrestled, with the former IMPACT World Champion taping his last match for the company in October 2022, before being definitively written off TV after being ‘stabbed’ by Deaner in a backstage vignette that aired in December.
Young was heavily rumoured to be returning to WWE surrounding his IMPACT exit, with a report from Fightful Select stating that Young was indeed hired by WWE in November 2022, shortly after Triple H took over the creative side of the business.
The report states that whilst Young hasn’t been used on-screen by WWE, there’s reportedly been no word of E.Y. being seen backstage at any WWE shows at all during this period. It is unknown what role the 43-year-old veteran will serve in the company this time round.
Young’s previous run in WWE occurred between 2016 and 2020, with Young heading up the villainous SAnitY in NXT, but was firmly entrenched at the bottom of the card after being called up to the main roster in 2018. After his WWE release in 2020, Young returned to IMPACT to reign as IMPACT World Champion for a second time, before heading up heel stable Violent By Design.
