Report: Update On Johnny Gargano's Contract Talks With WWE

A small update on Johnny Wrestling

While Johnny Gargano's WWE contract was due to expire on Friday, December 3, the former NXT Champion recently agreed to a one-week extension which will keep him with the company until December 10, after the WarGames special event.

Amidst reports that WWE were "pushing hard" to re-sign Gargano, Fightful Select have reported that WWE is making an effort to sign Johnny Wrestling for a longer period than his initial one-week extension.

Sources didn't indicate if Gargano was set to re-sign with the company, though, only noting that WWE want to keep the NXT Triple Crown Champion. Gargano's work with The Way was also applauded, particularly as he helped several new stars progress.

Contract talks between Johnny TakeOver and WWE began in October, two months before his contract was initially due to expire.

Another NXT star in Kyle O'Reilly is also set to be out of contract before the end of 2021 and Fightful noted WWE have reached out to the former Undisputed ERA man about possibly re-signing. Two of his former UE faction-mates in Adam Cole and Bobby Fish have since joined All Elite Wrestling, while Roderick Strong remains in NXT as a member of Diamond Mine.
