Report: Why Andrade El Idolo Turned On Chavo Guerrero On AEW Rampage

Other commitments for Chavo

Only two months after Chavo Guerrero was revealed as Andrade El Idolo's executive consultant, the former La Sombra turned on Chavo on the September 10 edition of Rampage, ending their partnership.

Guerrero helped Andrade defeat PAC on Rampage, attacking The Bastard with a foreign object before El Idolo rolled his opponent up for the win. After the match, Andrade suddenly decked Chavo on the ramp and Guerrero ended up eating two Superkicks from The Lucha Brothers as Andrade abandoned his advisor.

According to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, AEW wrote Chavo off TV because the former Cruiserweight Champion serves as the wrestling coordinator for 'Young Rock', the NBC TV show based on Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson's life, and filming of the second season recently started.

When 'Young Rock' was renewed for a second season, AEW and Guerrero agreed he would work through All Out and then his character would be written off. Once filming on season two wraps up, Chavo is expected to return to AEW.
