Report: WWE Lobbied Giulia To Undergo Surgery For Fractured Wrist

WWE wanted Giulia to undergo surgery for her fractured wrist, according to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer. 

"WWE pressured - pressured is the wrong word but WWE wanted her to undergo the surgery so she's doing that. I don't know what that means. I know before the surgery she was still talking about doing the July 13th date at Sumo Hall against Sareee. She really wanted to do that match and she's been very hands-on with Marigold," Meltzer said on Wrestling Observer Radio.

Giulia fractured her wrist while teaming with Utami Hayashishita against Sareee and Bozilla at Marigold's debut show on May 20. The hope is that Giulia will be able to recover in time to challenge Roxanne Perez for the NXT Women's Championship at Heatwave on Sunday, July 7. Giulia is also scheduled for a major match against Sareee at Marigold Summer Destiny on July 13. 

Giulia has undergone surgery, telling Tokyo Sports: "I was told that having surgery would be the quickest way to recover, and I made the decision because I wanted to be in top condition to wrestle against Sareee. I'll be away from home for three nights and four days, so it's like going on a trip to the countryside. I won't be able to move around, so I'll spend my time watching movies for the first time in a while and watching various wrestling videos."
