Update On WWE's Giulia Plans Following Fractured Wrist

Latest on WWE plans for Giulia

WWE could be forced to scrap their upcoming plans for Giulia.

Giulia is scheduled to join WWE later this year after helping to establish Rossy Ogawa's new Marigold promotion. The former NJPW STRONG Women's Champion suffered a fractured wrist during Marigold's inaugural show, however, and she will be out of action indefinitely.

In an update, Fightful Select's Corey Brennan has reported that WWE remain hopeful that Giulia will be able to recover in time for NXT Heatwave on Sunday, July 7. The current plan is for Giulia to challenge Roxanne Perez for the NXT Women's Championship at the event but plans may change due to the injury and Giulia's obligations to Marigold.

Giulia is expected to be the top talent in the next group of recruits that reports to the WWE Performance Center. When she does make her full debut on WWE TV, Giulia will seemingly retain much of her current presentation as WWE reportedly won't "look to fix something that isn't broken."

WWE also continue to be impressed by Giulia's commitment to learning English, although the language barrier is not considered as big of an issue under the Triple H regime. The likes of IYO SKY, Asuka, and Kairi Sane have all spoken at length in Japanese on WWE TV in recent weeks.
