Report: WWE Looking To Bring Back Classic PPV

There are reportedly pitches to revive an old WWE PPV

There have been some big changes made to WWE premium live event line-up in recent years, especially under the new regime change. Gone are the gimmick PPVs such as Hell In A Cell, TLC, and Extreme Rules, which were commonplace for over a decade.

2024 has seen the return of one classic PPV event in King Of The Ring - now named King & Queen Of The Ring, which took place in Saudi Arabia, hosting the finals of the respective men’s and women’s tournaments, won by Gunther and Nia Jax. According to a report from PWInsder, WWE are looking at bringing back another classic name for a major event.

WWE does not currently have any PLE’s planned and scheduled between the months of August and November, and there are reportedly pitches for October to host the Badd Blood event. An idea floated around is to build up to the anniversary of the first ever Hell In A Cell match between The Undertaker and Shawn Michaels, with October 5 available on a Saturday, meaning that WWE could host a Hell In A Cell match on the exact anniversary.

WWE held three Bad/Badd Blood events in the past, taking place in 1997, 2003, and 2004.
