The Blade Still Signed With AEW

The Blade still with AEW

The Blade has confirmed he is still under contract with All Elite Wrestling.

After being asked about his AEW status during a K&S WrestleFest virtual signing, The Blade confirmed he is still with AEW and he is hoping to return before All In.

"I'm just on injury reserve right now but yes, still with the company. I'm hoping so (to be back before All In). My back's bad. It's slowly but surely getting better but I'm hoping to be back in a couple months and I hope to be back by then... A lot of wear and tear... Might be (having surgery). That's what we're in the midst of right now," The Blade said.

The former Braxton Sutter revealed earlier this year that he was suffering from bulging and ruptured discs in his lower back that were keeping him out of action. The Blade hasn't wrestled in AEW or Ring of Honor since January 2024, while The Blade hasn't wrestled at all since February.

In The Blade's absence, The Butcher has been booked as a singles talent. He has failed to win a singles or tag team match on AEW programming since April 2023, however.

The Butcher and The Blade have been a part of All Elite Wrestling since November 2019.
