Report: WWE Not Planning To Bring Back Summer Rae

Former WWE star Summer Rae was backstage visiting at this past Monday's Raw taping, leading to some speculation that she could be about to make a return to the company. 

Summer (Danielle Moinet) posted a picture of herself with backstage interviewer Cathy Kelley, which some took as evidence she was there to talk about coming back to WWE.

However, Fightful Select have reported that when they inquired about such a possibility, they were no told there were no plans to bring her back full-time. 

Summer Rae signed a WWE developmental contract in November of 2011 and was called up to the main roster (as Fandango's dance partner) in April of 2013. She was involved in various storylines, as well as being a cast member on the reality show Total Divas, before being released on October 29, 2017, following a year of inactivity due to injuries.

Since departing WWE, Summer has wrestled two matches for an independent league in Australia. 

She made a surprise WWE return in early 2022, appearing on the January 21 episode of SmackDown, where she was referred to as a 'WWE Legend'. She subsequently entered the Women's Royal Rumble Match, but was quickly eliminated by Natalya.
