Report: WWE Open To Rob Gronkowski Return

Could Gronk come back?

WWE are reportedly open to Rob Gronkowski returning to the company in the future.

Gronk was previously a WWE Superstar for 83 days from March to June 2020 and the NFL star would host WrestleMania 36 before embarking on a reign with the 24/7 Championship. Gronkowski announced shortly after The Showcase Of The Immortals, though, that he planned to return to the NFL and he subsequently joined the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

The 32-year-old signed a new one-year deal with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers earlier this year meaning he will spend at least one more season in the NFL before potentially hanging up the boots again.

Should he do so, a WWE return could be on the cards as Vince McMahon's company are open to Gronkowski coming back, according to Fightful Select. Those within WWE wouldn't be surprised if Gronk doesn't return in the future, though.

Fightful also noted that Gronkowski was scheduled to be involved at SummerSlam 2020 with Mojo Rawley. The show was originally set to take place in Boston and the idea was Gronkowski would be a "huge draw" from his years playing for the New England Patriots. It has previously been noted that Gronkowski would have wrestled multiple times in 2020 as part of his WWE deal, including at SummerSlam and a future Saudi Arabia show.
