Riho Suffers Injury In AEW Return Match

She suffered a fractured arm in her first match since March.

Riho made her in-ring return in AEW on this past Saturday's episode of Collision, where she defeated Lady Frost. It was her first match since the March 13 'Big Business' episode of Dynamite, where she was defeated by Willow Nightingale. She had been off TV while getting her US visa renewed, prior to returning at the end of June.

Unfortunately, the former AEW Women's World Champion suffered an injury in her return bout. In a post on Instagram, the 27-year-old shared a picture of herself with her arm in a sling alongside the caption: "I just fractured my arm but I'm doing very well".

According to Fightful Select, there is no word on how long she will be out of action for.

Riho had been involved in a burgeoning feud with Serena Deeb, after Deeb had dared someone on her level to challenge her. The two had previously wrestled two singles matches, with Riho winning a Women's Title eliminator tournament match (on the February 17, 2021 Dynamite) and Deeb beating Riho to retain the NWA Women's World Championship on the Double or Nothing 2021 'Buy In' show.

Fightful Select also noted that Yuka Sakazaki, who was also planned to feud with Deeb, is currently sidelined with an injury having last competed in April.

Another AEW star was recently forced to vacate an independent title due to a storyline injury.
