Sami Zayn and Chad Gable will meet at WWE Clash at the Castle for the Intercontinental Title
After weeks of increasing aggression, Sami Zayn and Chad Gable will meet once again for the Intercontinental Championship with the two foes set to wrestle at WWE Clash at the Castle on June 15.
Zayn took to the ring on the June 3 edition of WWE Raw to comment on his run as Intercontinental Champion thus far, revealing that he felt unable to fully enjoy it because of Gable’s constant interference. These remarks led to Alpha Academy - sans Gable - making their way to the ring, with Maxxine Dupri reading a pre-prepared statement from Gable. The statement highlighted Gable’s disappointments with the group, labelling them all failures, before ending with Gable declaring he wants another shot at the belt.
Sami agreed to give Gable another shot at the title if it meant that he stop bullying Alpha Academy. Gable then sneak attacked Zayn out of nowhere, but when he instructed Otis to finish the job the big man refused and ate a slap from Chad instead.
As Gable berated Dupri and Akira Tozawa Otis stood up to Gable to a huge pop from the crowd as Zayn recovered to hit Gable into his team. This enraged Otis who got revenge on Zayn before leaving the ring, as Gable celebrated with the IC Title. With Gable’s WWE deal set to expire soon, could this be his last hurrah in a WWE ring?
