Scott D'Amore's Post-TNA Plans Potentially Revealed

Scott D'Amore's plans following his TNA firing may have been revealed.

A trademark was recently filed for 'Maple Leaf Wrestling' which was listed as the same corporate address as Scott D'Amore's Border City Wrestling promotion. 

Maple Leaf Wrestling was the unofficial name of the Toronto-based promotion run by the Tunney Family during the Territory days of pro wrestling. Jack Tunney would side with Vince McMahon and WWE in the 1980s, transferring the controlling interest of the promotion to WWE in 1984. Tunney would effectively run WWE's operations in Canada and he was also the company's on-screen president for several years. 

D'Amore's plans for the 'Maple Leaf Wrestling' trademark have yet to be revealed but speculation has suggested he could look to launch an indy promotion in the Toronto area. D'Amore has been the owner of Border City Wrestling since 1993, although the promotion has not held a show since October 2023. 

D'Amore was previously the President of TNA Wrestling until his controversial firing earlier this year over disagreements with Anthem about how the company should move forward. D'Amore was reportedly looking to expand TNA following the promotion's rebrand at the beginning of 2024 but Anthem were reluctant to fund further expansion.

Ahead of his firing, D'Amore offered to purchase TNA from Anthem for $10 million but the offer was rejected.
