Sonya Deville's Temporary Protection Injunction Against Attempted Kidnapper Extended

The order relates to the incident in August 2020

Sonya Deville's case against her attempted kidnapper is ongoing, with the WWE Superstar receiving an extension to her Temporary Protection Injunction against the individual.

Deville - real name Daria Berenato - was granted the extension against Phillip A. Thomas last Thursday, with the next protection hearing set for October 7, 2021, according to Wrestling Inc

Thomas, who is accused of trying to kidnap Deville at her home in August of 2020, was the subject of a competency hearing on Monday and is facing life in prison on charges of Aggravated Stalking, Armed Burglary of a Dwelling, Attempted Armed Kidnapping, and Criminal Mischief.

The order stops Thomas, who is currently incarcerated, from going near Deville's home, within 100 feet of her vehicles or any places requested by Deville where she, her family members or those closely associated with her 'regularly frequent'.

Depositions for the case began in February.

Deville returned to WWE television in early 2021, after taking time off in mid-2020 amidst the ongoing situation surrounding the attempted kidnapping.
