Texas Death Match Stipulation Added To Knockouts Title Match At IMPACT Hard To Kill 2022

Mickie James defends against Deonna Purrazzo

The rematch for the IMPACT Knockouts Championship between Mickie James and Deonna Purrazzo will now be a Texas Death Match.

The new stipulation for the highly-anticipated rematch between James and Purrazzo was announced on this week's episode of IMPACT Wrestling, as the two signed the contract for their bout at IMPACT Hard To Kill 2022.

Following the contract confirmation, James and Purrazzo got into a heated brawl, requiring the duo to be pulled apart. IMPACT officials Scott D’Amore and Gail Kim would then reinstitute a no contact clause between the Champion and her challenger ahead of Hard To Kill, before making their Championship bout a Texas Death Match.

Purrazzo saw her lengthy Knockouts Title run ended by James at Bound For Glory in October and disappeared from television for a number of weeks, before attacking James at Turning Point.

Purrazzo hasn't competed in a singles match since losing the Title two months ago, while James will be looking to successfully defend the Championship for a fourth time.
