Christian Cage's Patriarchy faction has won AEW World Trios gold
After The Bang Bang Gang trio of Jay White and The Gunns were stripped of the AEW World Trios Championships following an injury to Jay White, the vacant gold was put on the line at last night’s July 20 episode of AEW Collision in the Esports Stadium in Arlington, Texas.
Juice Robinson and The Gunns of the Bang Bang Gang sought to get the belts back around the waists of their faction, but they ultimately came short to The Patriarchy trio of Christian Cage, Killswitch, and Nick Wayne, who had been targeting the titles for the last several weeks.
The finish of the match saw Mother Wayne interfere on behalf of The Patriarchy by spraying hairspray into the eyes of Juice Robinson, allowing Christian Cage to nail the Killswitch finisher to win the match and the AEW Trios World Championships. This notably marks Nick Wayne’s first championship win in AEW, though Cage is a former TNT Champion and Killswitch is a former TNT Champion and AEW World Tag Team Champion, with some experience of title gold in the company already.
