Trick Williams Says CM Punk Has Been A 'Blessing' For NXT Roster

CM Punk has positively influenced current NXT Champion Trick Williams

NXT World Champion Trick Williams is happy to have CM Punk around in NXT.

The 'Straight-Edge Superstar' has made a point to show up at NXT TV tapings in order to help talent since returning to the company in November (and even made an on-camera appearance at last year's Deadline).

Speaking with Adrian Hernandez, Williams hailed Punk's behind-the-scenes impact, saying:

"Mentor is a perfect way to put it, man. He has been a blessing for all of us who would take the time to actually go talk to him and reach out to him. He's helped me with a few things that I feel like, if the crowd knew about it, they would be very grateful that he did. I'll just leave it there. Shoutout to CM Punk. He's been a positive light for all of us here in NXT".

The 45-year-old has continued to receive praise for his conduct since returning to the company, with WWE Producer Shane Helms calling him a 'pleasure' to be around backstage.

Williams is set to defend his title against Ethan Page at Battleground on June 10. As for Punk, a recent report indicated he was 'not that far' away from making a full WWE return.
