Vince McMahon Still Holds Considerable Power In WWE, Not Planning To Leave

Vince McMahon still holds great power in WWE

Vince McMahon isn't going anywhere.

The future of WWE's former Chairman and CEO has been the subject of much speculation in recent weeks after McMahon sold 8.4 million shares in TKO Group Holdings to raise $641 million. This was approximately 30 percent of his shares in the company but McMahon still holds a 12 percent stake in TKO.

Some wondered if McMahon might be looking to cash out but Sports Illustrated has reported the 78-year-old has no plans to leave WWE. McMahon sold the shares as he needed the money to be liquid for an undisclosed reason.

Furthermore, although McMahon is no longer involved with WWE creative to the extent he was uninvolved in CM Punk's WWE return, Sports Illustrated noted he still "wields great power" within the organisation. McMahon is currently focused on handling whatever duties he is given by TKO and Endeavor CEO Ari Emanuel. Their working relationship reportedly remains a positive one.

McMahon still remains the Executive Chairman of TKO Group Holdings, the parent company of WWE and UFC following the completion of the merger in September 2023. WWE creative, meanwhile, is once again headed up by WWE Chief Content Officer Triple H. Nick Khan is the President of WWE.
