Will Ospreay Never Planned For AEW World Title Match At All In

Swerve Strickland vs. Will Ospreay was never scheduled for AEW All In 2024

While the expectation amongst many outside of the company for months had been that Will Ospreay would challenge for the AEW World Title at All In, the 'Aerial Assassin' was never planned to do so.

According to Fightful Select, Will Ospreay vs. AEW World Champion Swerve Strickland "wasn't ever the plan" for All In and the promotion has different opponents in mind for both Ospreay and Swerve. Ospreay, based on recent booking, appears to be in line for a match against MJF at All In, while Swerve Strickland will face the winner of the Owen Hart Foundation Tournament which will be determined on July 10 in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.

According to reports, next week's Dynamite will have a "mega main event."

Will Ospreay was reportedly the talent who pitched facing Swerve for the AEW World Championship at Forbidden Door and All Elite Wrestling have "big creative plans in store throughout the year" for Ospreay. The 31-year-old is already the AEW International Champion, having won the belt at Double or Nothing from Roderick Strong. Ospreay has been full-time with AEW since March.

AEW All In 2024 will be held at London's Wembley Stadium on Sunday, August 25. Over 41,000 tickets have been distributed for the show so far.
