World Of Sport Wrestling Returning Later This Year

World of Sport Wrestling is back!

World of Sport Wrestling isn't dead!

It was announced today that WOS Wrestling will return with a taping at Epic Studios, Norwich on Saturday, September 14. Tickets are already on sale for the taping, which is aptly named WOS: The Return.

Wrestlers confirmed for the relaunch of WOS Wrestling include Grado, Sha Samuels, Adam Maxted, Martin Kirby, Alpha Male Iestyn Rees, Bullit, Joel Redman, LA Taylor, and Nightshade. The event will be hosted by So Cal Val.

Unlike previous iterations of World of Sport, the show won't air on ITV. New WOS programming will instead be broadcast on the World of Sport website and the promotion's social media channels on X, YouTube, TikTok, Facebook, and Instagram.

Grado said about the relaunch: "I am delighted WOS: The Return is happening. WOS last toured in 2019 with packed shows across the country and I am excited to get back out there showcasing the best performers this country has to offer under the WOS banner. Professional wrestling is booming around the world and British Wrestling needs a proper presentation with WOS."

ITV's World of Sport was previously the benchmark for British wrestling in the 1970s and 1980s with stars like Big Daddy, Giant Haystacks, Kendo Nagasaki, Johnny Staint and Mick McManus. WOS was revived for a pilot in 2016 that flopped before a full-scale revival on ITV in 2018 with a 10-episode series. The brand then held six live events in early 2019 before going on hiatus until today's announcement.

There was talk of a relaunch in 2022 featuring Nick Aldis and Mickie James but those plans ultimately didn't come to fruition.
