WWE Clash At The Castle 2024 Results

Following SmackDown on Friday night, WWE presents their first-ever pay-per-view from Scotland on Saturday, June 15 as Clash at the Castle emanates from the OVO Hydro in Glasgow.

Like the 2022 edition of Clash at the Castle, Drew McIntyre is in the headline match as 'Irn Dru' challenges Damian Priest for the World Heavyweight Championship with Judgment Day banned from ringside. Will CM Punk, spotted earlier in Glasgow holding a Celtic FC shirt, get involved, though?

Cody Rhodes (c) def. AJ Styles - I Quit Match for the Undisputed WWE Championship

The rivalry between Cody Rhodes and AJ Styles was rekindled in recent weeks after Styles did a Mark Henry and took out Rhodes during what initially appeared to be the former TNA World Heavyweight Champion's retirement announcement. The feud had only become more personal and Rhodes headed into his first-ever I Quit Match in the opening contest of Clash at the Castle. AJ Styles, meanwhile, was 4-0 in I Quit matches walking into the OVO Hydro.

Cody Rhodes dominated the early action and sent AJ Styles flying to the outside with a Drop Kick while the 'Phenomenal One' was stuck in the ropes. It was then quickly time for some table action, much to the delight of the fans in Scotland, but Rhodes didn't use them yet and the two competitors instead went brawling through the crowd and into a backstage area in the OVO Hydro. Rhodes and Styles ended up at Gorilla, which led to a brief Bobby Roode cameo, before they proceeded to brawl down the ramp. 

They eventually got back in the ring and Cody tried and failed to make AJ quit with a Figure Four Leglock. A Suplex to the outside from Styles allowed the challenger to gain control and AJ followed up with a brainbuster on the announce table before a microphone was smashed into Cody's face. AJ then started arguing with Mama Rhodes, who was at ringside, and Styles missed an easy trick as Cody's mother was right there to attack. Surely Cody would quit for his own mother?

Regardless, Cody was busted open from the microphone shot, bleeding from the eyebrow. The referee kept asking Cody if he wanted to quit as AJ worked over the Undisputed WWE Champion but Rhodes kept shouting "NO." AJ went for the Styles Clash on the steel steps soon after but he crashed and burned as Cody countered and sent him to the floor below. Disaster Kick followed but Styles blocked the Cross Rhodes and fired back with a Pele Kick to gain the upper hand. Styles then fish-hooked Cody's mouth for a little bit before the challenger retrieved a steel chair from under the ring and placed it around Cody's neck. A jumping knee to the steel chair produced a grim spot for Cody but the Undisputed WWE Champion once again refused to quit. 

Kendo stick shots from Styles followed before he whipped the champion with his belt and applied an STF. Cody faded in the submission but he was rudely awakened by some Highland Spring water to the face from Styles before AJ grabbed some handcuffs from under the ring and handcuffed the WWE Champion. 

A barrage of kendo stick shots followed as Cody still refused to quit. This led to more shouting between AJ and Mama Rhodes before Cody's mother slapped him in the face. This led to a steel chair threat from Styles but he didn't demolish Mama Rhodes. AJ then went for a Phenomenal Forearm with a chain wrapped around his arm but Cody Rhodes managed to grab a steel chair and throw it. The chair proceeded to bounce off Styles' head and AJ went tumbling through the table on the outside. 

This gave Cody enough time to find the key and free himself of the handcuffs. The handcuffs were then used as a weapon by Rhodes, giving AJ his own cut above the eye, and Rhodes fired up and delivered a Cody Cutter as the fans in Glasgow went wild. Two Cross Rhodes' followed before a third one on a steel chair. Cody refused to allow the referee to ask Styles if he wanted to quit and the Undisputed WWE Champion handcuffed AJ to the middle rope. 

Steel chair shot after steel chair shot followed, including one to AJ's knee. Styles told Cody to screw himself so Rhodes went to hit Styles in the head with the steel steps. This was just too much for AJ and he uttered the words "I quit" before Rhodes could cave in his skull. AJ quitting didn't matter, though, and Cody hit him in the head with the steel steps anyway. 

As Cody celebrated at the top of the ramp, Solo Sikoa popped up behind the American Nightmare which led to a sneak attack from Tama Tonga and Tonga Loa. The odds were evened by Randy Orton and Kevin Owens as they made the save and sent The Bloodline running to the back. Cody celebrated at the top of the ramp properly to end the segment.

Alba Fyre & Isla Dawn def. Shayna Baszler & Zoey Stark, and Jade Cargill & Bianca Belair (c) - Triple Threat for the WWE Women's Tag Team Championships

Loud "Scotland" chants to open the match before Belair drew a pop by slapping her own ass. The EST remained in control in the opening minutes, fighting off the other two teams. Jade Cargill then did the same, hitting Stinger Splashes before she hit a Fallaway Slam-Samoan Drop combo on Alba Fyre and Zoey Stark before a kip-up. 

The champions then battered Alba Fyre and Isla Dawn before they made quick work of Shayna Baszler and Zoey Stark with double Suplexes. The champions had a flex off before the two challenger teams had a huddle and made a brief alliance. This allowed them to actually get in some offence as they took out Cargill on the outside, even though she wasn't legal, before they worked over Bianca Belair in the ring. 

The alliance fell apart after they sufficiently worked over Bianca Belair and Alba Fyre ended up standing tall in the ring alone before she took out Baszler and Stark with a dive to the outside. A kick from the top rope followed but Belair broke up the pin from Fyre on Baszler. Tower of Doom spot followed where Isla Dawn for some reason Powerbombed Zoey Stark when she had Alba Fyre ready for a Superplex. 

Belair made the tag to Jade Cargill and the former AEW TBS Champion botched a Springboard, falling to the floor. A rough few moments followed as Cargill tried and failed to recover before Baszler applied the Kirifuda Clutch to Cargill. Jade was saved by a 450 Splash from Belair and the champions followed up with their DDT-German Suplex finisher to Baszler. Out of nowhere, Isla Dawn appeared and hit Jade Cargill with a German Suplex.

With the champions taken out, Isla Dawn picked the bones and pinned Shayna Baszler to win the match and the WWE Women's Tag Team Titles for herself and Alba Fyre.

Sami Zayn (c) def. Chad Gable - Intercontinental Championship 

The match was all about whether Otis, who was at ringside with Maxxine Dupri, would stick with Chad Gable or betray his former tag team partner and mentor in the wake of weeks of abuse from Gable. 

The action started out slow before Chad Gable took control and methodically worked over Sami Zayn and his surgically repaired left arm. The fans began to chant for Otis which led to a brief stop from Gable as he urged his protege to focus on him and only him. Gable remained in control but Sami scored a near fall with a Michinoku Driver. Gable simply went back to working over the arm, though, and scored a near fall of his own following a Powerbomb and Diving Headbutt. 

Both talents exchanged German Suplexes and then counters before Gable landed right on the top of his head. The Alpha Academy was, fortunately, able to continue and he put Zayn on the mat before he locked in a Crossface. Zayn escaped and applied a Crossface of his own before Gable reversed into an Ankle Lock. Lovely submission wrestling. Zayn managed to eventually escape into a pinning predicament, with Gable just kicking out at two. 

An increasingly annoyed Gable hit Zayn with forearm after forearm before he grabbed the Intercontinental Championship and handed it to Maxxine Dupri. Gable then distracted the official but Maxxine couldn't bring herself to deck Sami Zayn with the belt. This led to a verbal berating from Gable in the corner and Sami went for a Helluva Kick. Gable moved and Sami just managed to avoid booting Maxxine in the face. Gable took advantage of a stunned Zayn and hit him with Chaos Theory but Zayn managed to kick out. 

Gable went back to berating Dupri but Otis got in his way. Zayn then hit a Tope Con Giro on Otis by mistake, at which point Gable followed up with a Moonsault to both Zayn and Otis. Chad tried to take advantage but Sami fired back with an Exploder before he failed to hit a Helluva Kick as Gable simply collapsed to the floor. 

Gable reapplied the Ankle Lock on the outside but Zayn managed to counter, sending Gable flying into Maxxine Dupri's injured ankle. Otis was absolutely furious as Maxxine screamed in pain and Gable distracted the official once again. Otis couldn't bring himself to hit Sami Zayn as Maxxine told him not to, falling to the floor in pain. Seeing his friend in agony, Otis scooped up Maxxine and took her backstage as Gable looked on despondent. 

All the shenanigans gave Zayn enough time to recover and he caught Gable with a Helluva Kick out of nowhere to retain the Intercontinental Championship. 

Bayley (c) def. Piper Niven - WWE Women's Championship

Piper Niven, with a tribute to Lionheart on her kneepad, challenged Bayley for the WWE Women's Championship in the semi-main event of Clash at the Castle. 

While Piper was in her home country, Bayley was still Glasgow's girl as the fans filled the OVO Hydro with "Hey! Bayley" chants in the opening moments. Chelsea Green tried to interfere by grabbing Bayley's ankle, which led to a stomp on Green's hand from the WWE Women's Champion. Green then proceeded to berate referee Charles Robinson, grabbing his shirt and poking him in the eyes over what happened. A bemused Robinson subsequently ejected Green from ringside. 

With Niven left to fight on alone, she quickly took control and laid out Bayley with a Cannonball to the floor before a senton back in the ring for a near fall. Rough spot soon after as Niven Suplexed Bayley back into the ring from the apron but Baley managed to fight back with a Suplex of her own before a dive to the outside. Bayley remained on top and thought she had the match won following an Elbow Drop but the challenger managed to kick out. 

Bayley followed up with an avalanche Bayley to Belly and the champion made the cover but the referee was distracted by Chelsea Green in a Rey Mysterio mask. An angered Bayley took out Chelsea with a Drop Kick and sent her crashing into the barricade. Bayley then went for the Roseplant but Niven countered into the Piper Driver, planting Bayley right on the top of her head. 

The fans in Scotland thought that was it but Bayley kicked out at 2.99. More back-and-forth action followed before Bayley hit a Crucifix Driver into a pin for an ugly end of the match as Niven initially struggled to plant her shoulders for the 1-2-3. For the second pay-per-view in a row, a Crucifix leads to a really rough finish. 

Damian Priest (c) def. Drew McIntyre - World Heavyweight Championship 

Big fight feel for the main event as Drew McIntyre looked to right the wrong of Clash at the Castle 2022 and win the World Heavyweight Championship in his home country of Scotland. McIntyre got in the champion's head before the bell even rang, standing in front of Priest as he held up his title during the pre-match introductions. "HERE WE F*CKING GO" chants then filled the Hydro and McIntyre dominated the opening moments, flattening Priest with a Tope Con Giro. 

Priest managed to fight back with a thumb to the eye and the match settled as both competitors had time on top. Awful spot next as Damian Priest went for a Tope Con Giro but got his leg stuck as the ropes twisted, leaving Priest first clonking his head off the apron before he was just stuck dangling in mid-air stuck between the two ropes. The referee couldn't free Priest and it eventually took Drew actually helping his opponent out of the situation. 

Priest, struggling to put weight on his ankle, went for a South of Heaven but Drew blocked it and connected with a Futureshock DDT for a near fall. Priest managed to avoid an Air Raid Crash and somehow hit a one-legged Razor's Edge for a near fall of his own. Clubbing blows from both men followed as Priest continued to avoid putting weight on his ankle and the two talents were down following a Neckbreaker from McIntyre. 

After a kip-up, McIntyre set up for a Claymore but Priest rolled out of the ring. This didn't save Priest, though, as McIntyre simply hit him with a Claymore Kick through the barricade! 3-2-1 countdown followed but Priest countered with the South of Heaven. Everyone had flashbacks to Clash at the Castle 2022 but McIntyre managed to kick out. 

Priest, still struggling on his ankle, managed to hit a Frankensteiner but he hobbled straight into a Claymore. That looked to be it but Priest got his shoulder up at 2.99. The referee was then injured as he was forced to plummet to the outside to avoid being crushed. He legit hurt his ankle and was then sent flying from the apron into the barricade after Priest and McIntyre collided with the referee.

With the official down, McIntyre connected with a second Claymore and he had the match won as a referee ran to the ring. The official counted 1-2 and then stopped as it was revealed to be CM Punk. The Second City Saviour then grinned at McIntyre and decked him with a Low Blow. A South of Heaven followed as the referee recovered.

A 1-2-3 later and Drew McIntyre lost at Clash at the Castle once again.
