WWE Falsely Advertised Roman Reigns For Live Event

Roman Reigns was pulled from live event advertisements

WWE have been guilty of false advertising and changing plans on the fly, all with the protection of the disclaimer ‘card subject to change’. WWE are heading to Fayetteville, North Carolina for a house show and, according to Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the company had sold 3816 tickets for the live event.

WWE would then begin promoting the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns for the show, which would mark a very rare case of him appearing on a live event, and it would notably be the first time he has competed in Fayetteville for a good four years. Reigns being promoted by the venue and local radio led to upwards of 700 more tickets being moved for the event… only for WWE to pull Reigns from advertisements and admitting it was a mistake.

Meltzer noted; “on 5/17, WWE let us know that Reigns won’t be in Fayetteville and that refunds for ticket holders can be made until 7:30 p.m. the day of the show. Apparently the promotional team got an old set of Reigns dates before they were changed. They had 3,816 tickets out when the announcement was made and 4,521 when they announced he was not on the show, so that’s great movement for a few days for a house show.”

Reigns’ next advertised live event is in Mexico City in July, which again will be a rare instance of the champion being at a house show.
