WWE Looking At Launching A Lucha Libre Show

Could a WWE lucha libre show be on the way?

WWE have had a number of luchadors under contract over the years, but the company hasn't had much of a dedicated lucha libre show since Super Astros in the late 1990s.

That could be set to change as Nick Khan revealed during the MoffettNathanson's Inaugural Technology, Media, and Telecom Conference that a lucha libre show is under consideration. Any show would launch after the organisation's media rights deals in the United States and United Kingdom are settled.

"Ideally for us, we would go every day of the week, as long as there is a unique product we can put on the air and resonate. Something we've discussed internally; lucha libre, which is big in Mexico and Latin America, to start something like that down the road. This would be well after US and UK media rights are settled, the synergies are all in place and we have our legs under us with [TKO Group], that's something that's interesting to us, especially with the growing Hispanic audience in the US. We over-index in the Hispanic community already with our English content. To target that is something of interest for us," Khan stated.

WWE have seen big merchandise sales in recent months following the reformation of the Latino World Order. Current members of the stable include Rey Mysterio, Santos Escobar, Joaquin Wilde, Cruz Del Toro, Zelina Vega, and Bad Bunny.
