WWE NXT 2.0 Results - October 5, 2021

On the fourth edition of NXT 2.0 since the revamp, WWE once again tried to cram as much as possible into the two-hour show, bombarding their audience with short matches and mediocre content that won't live long in the memory.

In the longest match of the night, MSK defended the NXT Tag Team Championship in a Fatal 4-Way Elimination Match against Grizzled Young Veterans, Josh Briggs & Brooks Jensen, and Carmelo Hayes & Trick Williams in the main event. 

Williams and Hayes were the first team eliminated following a Blockbuster-Hart Attack combination from MSK. GYV were then the next team to go after Zack Gibson was decked with a Double Powerbomb from Jensen and Briggs. This allowed the two remaining teams to fight back and forth for the remainder of the 13-minute match and MSK picked up the win after Wes Lee rolled through a Powerbomb attempt from Briggs for the 1-2-3. 

The champions didn't have any time to celebrate, though, as Imperium suddenly attacked them from behind and only stopped after Jensen and Briggs charged back to the ring to make the save as NXT went off the air. 

WWE also announced Halloween Havoc would be returning on October 26 and the show will be headlined by an NXT Championship match between Tommaso Ciampa and Bron Breakker. Joe Gacy could worm his way into the match, though. Following the former CZW World Champion's win over Ikemen Jiro and a brief staredown with Harland, Gacy caught up with Ciampa backstage. After a brief back and forth, it was agreed that Gacy would be added to the title match if he could beat Ciampa next week. 

A North American Championship Match was also set for next week and new SmackDown draftee Isaiah "Swerve" Scott will defend the gold against Santos Escobar. 

In other major happenings on NXT, Pete Dunne and Cameron Grimes went one on one. The match was set up after Grimes tried to find love backstage and Dunne took offence. The Bruiserweight then used dirty tactics again to try and pick up the win alongside Ridge Holland. Kyle O'Reilly tried to interfere but Holland only sent him crashing over the announce table. Dunne then put Grimes away with the Bitter End for the victory. 

Holland and Dunne attacked O'Reilly after the match until Von Wagner made the save and carried KOR to the back. Wagner then revealed he and O'Reilly will face Dunne and Holland in a tag team match next week.

Elsewhere on NXT, WWE tried to fit as many short matches as possible into a two-hour broadcast. In the opening contest, Mandy Rose defeated Ember Moon in four minutes. LA Knight then defeated Odyssey Jones in another four-minute match after Andre Chase pushed Jones' foot from the bottom rope, causing the official to count the 1-2-3. Cora Jade also picked up a big win over Franky Monet in a two-minute match, Indi Hartwell pinned Mei Ying following interference from Persia Pirotta and Tony D'Angelo vanquished Malik Blake in the mafia man's first match.

NXT 2.0 also continued the build to Raquel Gonzalez vs. Mandy Rose as Toxic Attraction surrounded the NXT Women's Champion while she was in the ring for a promo. Io Shirai and Zoey Stark ultimately made the save and once they were all backstage, Indi Hartwell and Persia Pirotta challenged the champions to an NXT Women's Tag Team Title match.
