WWE NXT Tag Team Championship Vacated

Following Danny Burch's injury

The NXT Tag Team Championship has been vacated following Danny Burch's injury, William Regal has announced. The future of the title will be addressed on tomorrow's edition of NXT.

The NXT general manager tweeted: "I can confirm this incredibly unfortunate news and make the difficult decision to vacate the #WWENXT Tag Team Titles. Furthermore, I will address the state of the titles further tomorrow night on @WWENXT."

Regal's announcement came only minutes after WWE's Matt Camp confirmed Burch suffered a separated shoulder during last week's NXT Tag Team Title match against Finn Balor and Karrion Kross.

Burch suffered the injury when he landed awkwardly following a double suplex from Karrion Kross. The Brit immediately received medical attention and was pulled from the match during the commercial break. Lorcan fought on alone and ultimately managed to retain after Kross attacked his tag team partner.

With Regal's announcement, Oney Lorcan and Danny Burch's reign comes to an end after 153 days. They captured the gold from Breezango on October 21, 2020, and successfully defended the title three times.
