WWE Rename Jeff Hardy's Twist Of Fate, Matt Hardy Says He Did Not Stop The Company From Using The Move

WWE's paranoia is setting in...

After almost a year on the sidelines, Jeff Hardy returned to the squared circle on last week's episode of Friday Night SmackDown against King Corbin. After a back and forth contest, Hardy took advantage of Elias' distraction and hit Corbin with the Twist Of Fate. However, commentator Michael Cole called the famous move the Twist Of Fury to the surprise of many.

The Twist Of Fate has been used by both Matt and Jeff Hardy since their WWE careers began and even when they competed in IMPACT Wrestling and Ring Of Honor, the move's name did not change. According to PWInsider, this is because Matt owns the Twist Of Fate trademark and WWE changed it to the Twist Of Fury because Hardy did not give them permission to keep using the term.

The Broken One quickly quashed these rumours, however as he said he had not trademarked the move and WWE and Jeff were free to continue calling it the Twist Of Fate.

Matt tweeted: "I DID NOT. The @WWE & Jeff are completely free to use "Twist of Fate." The change 100% came on their end.  I wouldn't ever do anything to hinder my brother. I'm thrilled to see him back on #WWE TV, looking healthy & happy."
