WWE SmackDown On FOX Viewership Increases For December 6 Broadcast

A slight increase...

As the card for TLC: Tables, Ladders, and Chairs finally gets some direction, Friday night's episode of WWE SmackDown received a slight bump in total viewership.

According to Showbuzz Daily, Friday's episode of SmackDown averaged 2,446,000 viewers for the two hour broadcast, a five percent increase from last week's 2,336,000.

SmackDown averaged 2,536,000 viewers for the first hour, and dropped to 2,356,000 for the second.

Across nine broadcasts on the FOX network itself, SmackDown has averaged 2,680,000 viewers a week. The last four broadcasts average out to 2,433,000 viewers per show.

Friday's SmackDown about equaled last week's show in demographic ratings, doing a 0.70 in the 18-49 demo and a 0.45 in 18-34 (both the same as last week), while increasing to a 0.9 in age 25-54 (up from 0.85 last week).

The show's increase is somewhat impressive, given that WWE faced some heavy competition in the form of college football's PAC-12 title game on ABC. That boosted ABC's typically-mediocre Friday night viewership to 5,197,000 viewers for the night.

WWE SmackDown, despite the increase, was still the least-watched primetime show across the four major American networks, with the second least-watched being the 9 PM airing of Dateline NBC (3,492,000 viewers).
