WWE WrestleMania 36 Officially Moved To WWE Performance Center
An unfathomable turn of events...
There will be no going as scheduled at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa. There will be no delaying WrestleMania until perhaps May or June, where there could be a potentially-diminished risk of COVID-19.
Instead, WWE has announced Monday evening that WrestleMania 36 will be moving to the Performance Center in Orlando, to be held without fans in attendance.
WWE's statement reads, “In coordination with local partners and government officials, WrestleMania and all related events in Tampa Bay will not take place. However, WrestleMania will still stream live on Sunday, April 5 at 7 pm ET on WWE Network and be available on pay-per-view. Only essential personnel will be on the closed set at WWE’s training facility in Orlando, Florida to produce WrestleMania.”
It would mark the third time that WrestleMania takes place in the city of Orlando, following 24 in 2008, and 33 in 2017.
WWE programming for the foreseeable future has been moved to the Performance Center in light of the recommended distancing and quarantining, due to the spread of the coronavirus. This includes tapings for Raw, SmackDown, and NXT.
