X-Division Open Challenge Set For September 2 IMPACT Wrestling

Josh Alexander has laid down the gauntlet

Josh Alexander is blazing a path as IMPACT Wrestling X Division Champion, and has thrown out an open challenge to any former X Division Champion to face him for the gold on September 2.

Alexander successfully defended the title at IMPACT Wrestling Emergence on Saturday August 21, defeating Jake Something after a 17-minute bout.

Since defeating TJP in the instant classic Iron Man match in early June, The Walking Weapon has been on a tear, with many pegging Alexander as a future IMPACT World Champion.

Alexander lifted the X Division Championship at Rebellion on April 25, defeating Ace Austin and TJP in a triple threat match. This Alexander’s first reign with the title, having previously reigned as IMPACT World Tag Team Champions on two occasions as The North with former partner Ethan Page.

The pair signed with IMPACT in 2018, with Alexander departing the company in early 2021 before joining AEW, debuting during the Face of the Revolution ladder match at Revolution in March.

The September 2 edition of IMPACT Wrestling has already been taped.
