Asuka Not Expected To Return From Injury In 2024

Asuka not expected back before the end of 2024

Don't expect Asuka to be back on WWE TV in the near future.

According to Fightful Select's Sean Ross Sapp, people in WWE do not expect Asuka to be back from injury before the end of 2024.

"Not expected back by the end of the year, according to people in WWE. But anything can happen, don't know the type of surgery yet," Sean Ross Sapp said on a Fightful Q&A

Asuka has not wrestled since Backlash on May 5 when she and Kabuki Warriors tag team partner Kairi Sane dropped the WWE Women's Tag Team Championships to Bianca Belair and Jade Cargill. Asuka has since noted that she underwent a 90-minute surgery but the exact issue with her knee injury is unknown. Asuka noted she would be moving to a rehabilitation centre to rehab the injury following surgery.

Damage CTRL has continued to be featured on Monday Night Raw in Asuka's absence, with IYO SKY noting that the faction needs to change. SKY has qualified for the women's Money in the Bank Ladder Match at the July 6 pay-per-view but Kairi Sane has been less successful, having not won a match since Asuka stepped away from WWE programming.
