Backstage News On Shark Cage Stipulation At WWE Bad Blood

Backstage news on WWE Bad Blood Shark Cage stipulation

WWE Bad Blood 2024 is not only set to feature the return of the ‘Bad Blood’ branding, but also the return of the shark cage, with Dominik Mysterio set to be suspended above the ring in the aforementioned structure during the WWE Women’s World Championship match between champion Liv Morgan and challenger Rhea Ripley.

A report from PWInsider states that whilst the Shark Cage stipulation was a late announcement on WWE TV, the stipulation itself was not a late addition to PLE plans, and has been planned for Bad Blood for several months.

There have only been a handful of shark cage matches in WWE over the course of the past few decades, with Chris Jericho notably suspended in the cage during the WWE Universal Championship match between Roman Reigns and Kevin Owens at Royal Rumble 2017, whilst the likes of Chyna, Triple H, and Jerry Lawler have all found themselves in the cage during WWE events.

The stipulation was also used on many occasions by NWA/WCW, with Paul Ellering infamously held inside the cage during the ‘Last Battle of Atlanta’ between Tommy Rich and Buzz Sawyer.
