Bianca Belair Vs. Sonya Deville Officially Announced For WWE WrestleMania Backlash

Bianca Belair puts the Raw Women’s Championship on the line against Sonya Deville

As seen on the latest WWE Raw, Sonya Deville inserted herself into the WWE Raw Women’s Title picture, installing herself as Bianca Belair’s first challenger for the gold.

Deville hoodwinked Belair into a match, getting the champ to sign an open contract before beating Belair down and signing it herself. Now, on WWE’s The Bump, the match has been made official for WWE’s upcoming WrestleMania Backlash ‘premium live event’ on May 8.

Belair appeared on The Bump to accept the challenge, after discussing how ‘The Est’ has to prepare for everything after her hellacious war with Becky Lynch at WrestleMania 38, with all these challenges for her title making Belair “better and better”.

This will be Deville’s first singles bout on PPV/premium live event since SummerSlam 2020, when Belair lost a Loser Leaves WWE No DQ match against Mandy Rose, before taking a sabbatical from WWE.

Confirmed line-up so far for WWE WrestleMania Backlash:

  • Charlotte Flair (c) vs. Ronda Rousey - WWE SmackDown Women’s Championship “I Quit” Match
  • Cody Rhodes vs. Seth Rollins
  • Bianca Belair (c) vs. Sonya Deville - WWE Raw Women’s Championship
