Report: AEW Rampage Potentially Facing Cancellation

Rampage potentially facing cancellation when new AEW broadcast deal is finalised

All Elite Wrestling could soon be shuttering Rampage, with reports suggesting the AEW ‘c-show’ could be cancelled as part of AEW’s impending new broadcast deal.

Writing on F4WOnline, Dave Meltzer noted that sources indicated that Rampage would not be continuing when the expected deal between AEW and Warner Bros. Discovery is officially announced, with it believed that Rampage will in essence be replaced by new show AEW Shockwave - itself believed to be a new AEW property being shopped around to networks outside of WBD such as FOX.

The cancellation of Rampage adheres to the recent report put out by Puck that suggested the new agreement between AEW and WBD would see AEW programming run twice weekly on WBD networks - with the smart money suggesting that these two shows would be Dynamite and Collision.

Rampage has been running since August 13 2021, with the show originally running as a predominantly live affair. The second episode of the show was the historic ‘First Dance’ edition that featured CM Punk’s return to professional wrestling, as well as Christian Cage defeating Kenny Omega for the TNA and IMPACT World Championships.

Since the debut of AEW Collision in June 2023, Rampage has mainly been used as a platform to highlight younger wrestlers, taking the place of AEW Dark and Dark: Elevation.
