Bobby Fish Joining MLW

The former NXT and ROH star is set to debut next month

MLW have announced that Bobby Fish will be joining the promotion in October, and will be taking part in the Opera Cup tournament, alongside the likes of Tom Lawlor and Davey Richards.

Fish gave a statement to Sports Illustrated regarding his participation in the tournament, saying:

“I’m ready to jump in headfirst into MLW, especially with the Opera Cup. I welcome this new challenge. I’m in a situation now where I have extra room for creativity with what you see in the ring. That’s what I’m here to push. MLW has some very talented athletes, and I’m excited to see how we mix it up.”

The indie veteran was released from WWE NXT in August, and has since appeared for Pennsylvania’s PPW.

A former NXT Tag Champion, one-time ROH TV Champion and three-time ROH World Tag Team Champion with Kyle O’Reilly, Fish will be a good fit in MLW, with his inaugural appearance set for the historic former ECW Arena in Philadelphia.

There’s no word yet on if Fish is on a ‘per appearance’ deal with MLW, or if he has signed a full-time contract with the company.
