Davey Boy Smith Revealed As Next Inductee Into WWE Hall Of Fame

A British Wrestling Icon Is Finally Honoured...

WrestleMania 36, as of writing, is less than one month away as The Showcase Of The Immortals will be broadcast live from Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida. The Hall Of Fame ceremony is also scheduled for April 2 at the Amalie Arena. So far, WWE has announced The nWo, Batista, The Bella Twins, and John Bradshaw Layfield will be part of this year's Hall Of Fame class.

The latest inductee into the Hall Of Fame was revealed on this week's episode of the After The Bell podcast, as host Corey Graves announced Davey Boy Smith will be inducted on April 2. He said "It is my honour and privilege to announce The British Bulldog Davey Boy Smith will be joining the WWE Hall Of Fame."

Graves' guests on the podcast were members of the Hart Family dynasty Davey Boy Smith Jr., Natalya, and Tyson Kidd, who will induct Bulldog into the Hall Of Fame. Bret "Hitman" Hart is also scheduled to be part of the ceremony.

Davey Boy Smith is considered an icon of British wrestling who achieved worldwide success in WWE, WCW and in Japan. He initially broke onto the scene as one half of The British Bulldogs with his cousin, Dynamite Kid, where they became WWE Tag Team Champions at WrestleMania 2.

The tag team would eventually split in 1990, and Smith pursued a singles career soon after. With his Bulldog Matilda, Davey Boy became immensely popular which culminated in his finest match at SummerSlam 1992 when he won the Intercontinental Championship from Bret Hart at Wembley Stadium. Afterwards, he proceeded to jump between WWE and WCW for the rest of his career, competing in memorable rivalries as part of The Hart Foundation and as a singles star.
