Details Reportedly Emerge Regarding Shane McMahon's Relationship With Vince McMahon

Reports suggest Shane's contract with WWE has expired

Reports earlier this week suggested that Shane McMahon was no longer under contract with WWE as a Talent, something the promotion denied.

The 51-year-old's most recent run with his father's promotion has been exclusively as an on-screen talent and, with reports indicating that McMahon has not been seen at the WWE offices in while, some have speculated about the condition of Shane O'Mac's relationship with his dad, Vince McMahon.

WrestlingNews.Co, however, have reportedly heard from a source within WWE, who has made it clear that the nature of Shane's deal with the company has always been as a talent since his return since 2016, and his standing with his father is good.

"I know that fans want to think that there is this friction between Shane and Vince but their relationship is great. When Shane returned in 2016 it was agreed by everyone that he would only work as a talent. That is what Shane wanted. Shane has other business interests. It was never a secret that he wasn’t involved in the business side of WWE."

The source added that, while Shane and Vince did have a falling out in 2009 which ultimately led to his departure from WWE, things were resolved long before Shane's return five years ago.

Away from his on-screen role in WWE, Shane McMahon is involved in a number of business ventures. He was named the new Executive Chairman of the Board for Ideanomics, having served as Vice Chairman since 2010, while rormer WWE star The Godfather revealed in a recent interview that Shane owns a Cannabis co-op in California.
