Drew McIntyre Challenges Roman Reigns For WWE Clash At The Castle

McIntyre wants the shot in Cardiff

Drew McIntyre has issued a challenge to Universal champion Roman Reigns for WWE's Clash at the Castle, which takes place in Cardiff the first weekend of September.

Flanked by The New Day, McIntyre made the challenge to Reigns on Friday's edition of SmackDown. Reigns has yet to respond to the challenge.

The challenge segued into a six-man tag, in which McIntyre, Kofi Kingston, and Xavier Woods lost to Sheamus, Ridge Holland, and Butch.

Clash at the Castle will take place Principality Stadium in Cardiff on Saturday, September 3, marking WWE's first stadium show in the United Kingdom in three decades. At least 40,000 tickets have reportedly been sold for the event so far.

No other matches or attractions have been announced for the Clash.

McIntyre and Reigns were on opposite sides of a six man tag at WrestleMania Backlash last month, as Reigns teamed with The Usos to defeat McIntyre and Randy Orton and Riddle.

A former two-time WWE champion, both of McIntyre's title wins came in 2020, when fans weren't allowed at events due to the pandemic.
