More On Lucha Brothers Joining WWE

More details on the Lucha Brothers making their way to WWE

It was revealed over the last couple of days by PW Nexus that Rey Fenix and Penta El Zero Miedo of the Lucha Brothers had officially left AEW and had already signed with WWE in multi-year deals. This will see the duo surpass WWE’s developmental brand NXT, heading instead straight to the main roster on either RAW or SmackDown. WrestleVotes Radio followed this up by stating that work was underway for merchandise such as masks and other material.

In the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer revealed some more details about the former AEW World Tag Team Champions heading to WWE. Whilst they are well known around the professional wrestling world under their current names, it is reported that Penta & Fenix will be handed new ring names in WWE. Additionally, Meltzer noted that it is likely that Tony Khan allowed Fenix to leave AEW early, not adding on injury time to his contract, which was stated as a possibility in recent months. Even amidst some potential controversy as Fenix & Penta were reportedly unwilling “to do business” on their way out, it seems like Khan took the higher road.

Per Fightful, WWE recently filed the trademark for “Harlem Lewis”, though for some reason we can’t imagine Penta or Fenix rocking up with this name.
